With the Chesapeake Bay being so close I'd be interested to know if someone could suggest any places on the Eastern Shore of MD that are good for rockhounding?

kaila, I imagine they might if there is any gravel. If nobody with experience responds, I would recommend purchasing the falcon guides book "rockhounding ______" and then "gem trails of _____" I personally like the gem trails maybe more because in my experience it includes more sites. The falcon guides series includes more details about each site. Hope that helps!

Glad that helps. Make sure to get the most recent copy as well. He gem trails series is pretty old. The falcon guides should be published within the last 5 years if it's the latest copy. The newest gem trails have a stamp that says "Rockhound approved" on the left of the cover. I would try Amazon for it.

kaila I did an Amazon search and found no gem trails of Maryland but I did find a falcon guides book with sites in Washington DC and Maryland as well as a few others. The search term I heard was "rockhounding Maryland" it was a little down the page.

Hi, I'm in Virginia Beach- nothing around here or the Virginia Eastern Shore that I know of. You may find fossil clams, though. The Eastern Shore is one of my favorite places. Love it there.
