There are a lot of similar videos out there of these shredders, and I've watched many of them. Quite impressive machines.

There are a lot of similar videos out there of these shredders, and I've watched many of them. Quite impressive machines. The local scrap yard has a hydraulic scissors for shearing metal to 3 foot lengths. It has been there for 35 years and has hardly ever been serviced, totally reliable considering it chops serious sticks of steel day in day out. Amazing what a machine can do if it is designed for the task !

Ha! Serious gang mauling tooth geometry Wonder what the hook is on the teeth ? Probably fairly aggressive. Like a rip saw 16 degrees
What the drive? Toothed gears? Chain rolled?
The reasons recycle plants don’t want plastic bags disposed in with clean recyclable is that the plastic get wound up into drive pulley mechanism causing the operation to shut down To prevent motor over heating surge
Then some hazmat crews have to enter the heap of gar`bage to try and loosen the hot wound plastic from the spindle Actually good work if ya can get it!
At least that was a public service announcement sent out by Arizona Recycles
maybe that not the reason but swear its what i read...m

Cool potential robotic joint Dave. This Kuka bot vs Tim Bolls happened 7 years ago. With recent advances in artificial intelligence Mr. Bolls would likely not stand a chance after a few more 'learning' games under the robot's belt.

Shot this yesterday using a Lumix 2500.(posted yesterday)
However the resolution is not good. Trying to do high resolution !
So, Youtube defaults to low resolution 480p video. This was supposed to be recorded in high def 4k. If the settings gear at lower right of video is clicked, then click quality, then click 1080p the video can be seen in HD 1080p. Much better.
For some reason 4k is not a Youtube setting option...must research further.(or I failed to record at 4k !)
Give 1080p a try:

Video taken from truck with windows rolled up. Close proximity of truck has them angry. Before being disturbed.

As I was in Uruguay 1957-1960, I found this new video interesting! As South America broke away from Africa huge basalt flows covered parts of Brazil and Uruguay. The land was a sand desert covering a huge aquifer. as the heat penetrated down into the water, it turned to steam and bubbled up into the cooling basalt.
