My daughter got a National Geographic tumbler for Christmas and I have become fairly obsessed with the hobby. We have a blast going out as a family looking for rocks and all the kids love when we get to move the rocks to the next stage. Since Christmas we have got a Harbor Freight disposable double barrel tumbler, Thumler's Model B, Raytech TV-5, and a Lot-O double barrel. We live in northern Utah but spend a lot of time camping in our fifth-wheel in Southern Utah. We try to incorporate rock hounding into all of our family trips whenever possible. It's great getting back into the hobby I used to do with my grandfather 25 years ago. I am really trying to improve my patience waiting to change out the barrels and waiting till the rocks are perfect in the gridding stage and ready for polish. This is such a great resource and I have been using it for a while now, but I have never participated because I don't know how to use a forum and what all the etiquette protocols are. I look forward to getting more involved in the tumbling community and learning from all your experience. I will try my best to learn the rules and how to use a forum type setting. Please be patient with me as I learn the ropes and screw up a few times.

Welcome from California. This is the first forum I’ve ever joined/participated in. I’m not a tumbler, but you have come to the right place. Many excellent tumblers here.

Oh, and we really like pictures.
Welcome aboard from Virginia!

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! I don't think these are posted anywhere, but I think these rules could apply here: (I've already seen some of your other posts...I think you'll fit in just fine with the rest of us rock-heads! )
