Just one more opinion: I personally like the slab backgrounds, just not this slab for this cab. Too much color overlap, of course this is all a matter of personal preference. Something with a completely different color than the cab/wrap with a picture that is tighter on the main subject would be nice. In other words, make sure the main subject is taking up more space in the image than the background.

Yeah I like slab backgrounds also, it's just hard to find a "standard" slab that would work with all of the different cabs.
Although I don't suppose that is completely necessary.
I might be able to crop it a little bit closer, but on that goimagine site if you crop in too close you can't see the entire pendant in the thumbnails.
Back to the drawing board I guess!

Mike, do you have any teepee canyon agates in matrix? I'd bet the limestone would work well for a background.

My suggestion goes a bit deeper. You need to have a unified theme through the website. Not saying you don’t.
“Papa Mike’s Pendants”
Let’s see papa mike. Is he a logo of a grandpa? Or is it actual Mike, hounding with his grandson?, or sitting at his dremel desk….
Of course you can decide!
If your theme is Fairburn and Teepee agates, then do that, but include a story to draw the consumer in. People hate to be sold but they LOVE to shop, and buy. And your target buyer is looking for a genuine handcrafted pendant with a story.

For what it's worth I enjoyed the way it looks. I know it's probably not the same material, but it's neat to see the final product in front a the "unfinished" material...shows how much work you put into it. There is a post that I can't seem to find at the moment that shows a puddingstone pendant in front of a raw piece of puddingstone that shows what I'm talking about.

I tried to put a bit of a story in a section that GoImagine has called Meet The Maker, but perhaps I'll expand it some. I don't particularly have a theme per se, other than handcrafted pendants. Thanks again!

That was Chuck's post in rockjunquie's thread about how long it's been since people have cabbed. It made an impression on me as well- unfortunately, I rarely think to take a picture of the slabs before I make a cab. 🙃

per NDK 's suggestion, here's another try using the Teepee Canyon matrix as a background. I'm going to try using it with the other pendants I have with different colors, but I think it would work well. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Your beige background is much better. knave ‘s muted background is lovely.

I'm still sticking with my first vote. I really like that first background the best for this pendant...
