Not a specific type of plume. But These thundereggs come from my private bed. The plume is plentiful. Thought guys might like these since we're talking plume.

"...from my private bed" is just thrown out there so offhandedly! LOL These are beyond spectacular! Some of my favorite cabs I've done have been Thunderegg Moss or Plumes. I've got some Thunderegg slabs I'll be cutting preforms out of tomorrow (if the weather holds). Seriously...both of these are freaking amazing.

Being new to the forum, i've been posting/sharing a lot of stuff i've found over the years. Hope i'm not coming across as a rock snob or bragging type. More or so just passionate about what I do and wanting to share my passion that all of you have and talk rocks. I honestly hope i'm encouraging others to get out there and find that next big deposite. I've been digging through your and others stuff. I just love seeing whats out there and learning. Everytime I think I know it all, you guys introduce me to new material. I've found a lot of stuff over the past 30 years. A lot of which I have a large supply, but I've never brought it to market (hence private bed haha). I was blessed to have a grandfather who was one of the original big time prospectors out of central oregon. Because of him, i've learned prospecting secrets, tips, areas, etc.. that many still don't know about to this day. Maybe some day our paths will cross and i'll give you some stuff that will blow your mind

That was just poking fun...all done out of jealousy! LOL Flat out...I don't think you're coming across in any other way than very passionate. I definitely enjoy seeing what you've found...and I enjoy reading about your knowledge of material as well as people like your grandfather and his "cohorts". Heck...the vast majority of us have to live vicariously through the pictures and descriptions of others... especially when we know the chances of us hounding in most areas people write about are slim to none. I don't see it as bragging...I see the passion! Please continue showing your treasures and please continue to add your thoughts and knowledge...and know it is VERY much appreciated and welcomed.

You come across as very very informed and passionate and we're all lucky you found us- otherwise we wouldn't see your beauties.
I am one of those people that lives vicariously through you guys out West. No rocks here at the beach. So, I am thrilled to see your posts.

Not only do they have amazing plumage inside, but that greenish matrix itself looks nice, too. If you ever want to part with a few of the thundereggs from that bed, let me know! Edited to add: a belated welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing these amazing pictures and your knowledge in general. And I am enjoying your profile pic, too!

Maybe some day our paths will cross and i'll give you some stuff that will blow your mind I don't think you're going to make any enemies around here posting high quality photos of amazing / rare rocks. And if you or your family mined or collected them, all the better! You seem proud of your rocks and your efforts to find them. From what I've seen, I would be very proud of them as well. If you've got a huge stash of amazing plume agates, consider starting a plume agate photo thread and throwing up a new photo or two once or twice a week along with a little information about the rock. Others have done this with pet wood and coprolite and they are among the most popular threads on the forum. Over time, these threads serve as a valuable archive regarding a specific type of material. In any event, I've been enjoying your photos and I look forward to seeing more of them. I will also be interested in learning whatever knowledge you may wish to share about the rocks in your area. I'm 2000+ miles from Oregon, so it's unlikely I'll ever do any prospecting out there. But I love reading and learning about those who live in places where the hills are loaded with buried treasure.

Wow, tough call. I love Woodward, Rio Grande, and Bishop Rch ( Marfa) from Texas, Bloody Basin from AZ, Owlhead, Cady Mtns (north and south), Paisley, Wingate, Horse Canyon, and Valley Springs from Commiefornia and of course Priday Rch but there are just so many.

My favorites are the Texas plumes. Bouquet, Bishop, Woodward, Needle Peak and other area ranches plumes are my favorites.

Was digging through some stuff at my grandparents today and stumbled across this egg. I know this came from our bed but never remember him ever mentioning it to me. Now i'm dying to know where the other half went. Golds plumes in white opal, this was a first for me haha.
