Officially moving day 😬 I was pretty lucky to have found this little apartment overlooking the lake, and that was a bit of a mental support when I ran into some hard times. I'm going to miss it but I think there is a bunch of different roads I can take when I get out west. Send some good vibes for a safe road trip, figure I'll be ok once I get out there The girls in their dog harnesses, just dying to stay in a car and at hotels

think of all the new adventures and places to explore.

You and your furbabies have a safe journey and good luck wherever you land.

Son Of Beach - We haven't gotten a "trip" update for awhile...how'd it go? Did the cats do okay on the trip? Did YOU do okay on the trip??

Son Of Beach - We haven't gotten a "trip" update for awhile...how'd it go? Did the cats do okay on the trip? Did YOU do okay on the trip?? Ha it's a combination of me being as busy as I can stand away from work and having nothing but my phone at the moment. Too many typos to correct 😂. Move went just about as well as I could have hoped, probably better. Since I had made the trip last summer I knew the route and most of the cities along the way surprisingly. We ran into a lesser version of that hail you encountered for about an hour and some heavy downpour in west ND, the trailer in tow started to hydroplane. That was really the only hitch, other than finding hotels on the fly. Cats did awesome considering I wasn't able to take them into any hotel. Just threw the litter box on the passenger floor and a blanket over the seats at night, they slept most of the drive otherwise. Job is going well, everyone seems as normal as could be, and I'm fitting in well I think. The only issue I've really had is fitting the remainder of my 750 Sq foot apt into a little 10 × 10 room. I'm pretty good at organizing and it's really tested my patience. I found a huge bookshelf on sale at IKEA that I had to dissamble at the store and then reassemble at the new apartment (and jam into my little corolla lol) It took me four nights, but I finally got everything shifted back into that one room now and no longer have boxes scattered all over her apartment. Traffic isn't like home, but 15 in, 20 out, is apparently unheard of in these parts so I'll count my blessings once again. The only unknown at this point is how to fit my tumbling in... I'm hoping that a little more organizing will offer a corner of some room up and I can at least bust out the 33B for that soothing white noise

The should give out a lifetime achievement award for putting that thing back together. I had to move it 3 times to get it to fit correctly lol

Good to hear the move itself had only a couple "hiccups"...and I'm glad your "assimilating" to your new surroundings! Great job on the bookshelf! LOL - Here ya go!

I don't know how I missed this, welcome to Washington Son Of Beach! There's some pretty cool stuff rock wise on the west side, both clubs and rock locals, although I am happy in Eastern Wa. Happy you get a fresh start. I'd love to do something like that, but that ain't happening. It's nice to have another Washingtonian.

Anyone been to Missoula? I checked and the temps are very similar to here, just half the precipitation...interesting. Missoula Montana is little California now .. They ruined that city..

If I had it to do over again, I would move back to central Montana or northern North Dakota... Still might, Oregon has become a weird state, letting drugs, homelessness and crime into their areas...

Welcome to WA, not my home anymore but I spent about 50 years of my life there. I was in SW WA but made it to the Seattle area quite regularly for many years. Don't know what area you mean when you say S Seattle, but using SeaTac as a starting point, there are a number of reasonable length drives you can make th begin the rockhound adventure. The NW Rockhounds HQ is somewhat north of the University, so a bit of a drive, but a good spot to visit and learn about trips, shows and whatnot. They also have a Lapidary shop with classes and open sessions. A ferry ride on the fast ferry to Bremerton and then North to Sequim leads to the Sequim club, they also operate a shop last time I checked, and not far past Port Angeles is where people look for the elusive Olympic Poppy Jasper. South to the Salmon Creek area for sweet carnelian and pseudo coprolites, mostly thought to be iron secretions, but many shape up just like what you scoop from those litterboxes. If you're settled in enough for a longer trip, we're a little over 2 weeks from the Prineville OR show and 3 weeks from the Madras OR show, all with field trips daily and we will be vending both shows as well. The realrockhound is rumoured to be around on the weekends and probably other members, I'll be starting the show thread today. Love to meet you. Puyallup also has a pretty lively club from what I hear, and their show is THIS WEEKEND! www.puyallupvalleygemandmineralclub.com/shows

Son Of Beach I'm sorry I missed your whole moving thread! Glad you ended up safe and sound and none the worse for wear. I had the same situation 13 years ago when I met Vince. We actually met on an opal cutting board out of Australia. Met him in person on my birthday when I turned 50. Went home, came back at the end of June for his birthday for a week. He proposed to me on the phone and I said yes. I moved to AZ in October and we got married in November. It was the best 13 years of my life. Sometimes things happen for a very special reason. Congrats on the move and the love!

Thank you all for the well wishes, familiar ties, and recommendations. I'm struggling to communicate via mobile in the way that I would like. Hoping to have my PC up ad running soon, but just know that I've read all the replies and appreciate the feedback and hopefully will be in touch soon and more often. You guys rock!
