I got the email also. I've bought from him a few times and not always satisfied. Buying unfaced rough of any jasper that could have orbs is a gamble and what I see from the pictures is that a lot of it I wouldn't want. I've had good luck and bad luck with BMJ, Willow Creek and Royal Imperial It comes down to yield, cost and selling price of the cabs produced.
He's offering the rough this afternoon and I'll see the price and decide how lucky I feel.

Offer started at $35 a pound, golf to tennis ball size. I'll sit this one out.

Helluva variety in that Whiskey bunch . . . stone canyon to black bruneau. A few of his contour-polished chunks are looking mighty sweet.

That is some great looking rock. The polish is flawless on those pieces. Nice to see new material of that quality.

I'll save you a piece Ali, please post pics when you get it and cut some. I sat there and contemplated buying some and decided not. Didn't know if the larger pieces were the same as the smaller because he didn't put pictures up of the larger stuff. Didn't want to spend $35/lb for the smaller ones. Knowing Phillip, the pictures are the creme de la creme and not all of it is that fabulous.
I'd like to know the ratio between good and not so good cutters.

I'd like to know the ratio between good and not so good cutters. I definitely will post it He said that the larger is not showing orbs just brecciated and he will have more of the nodules probably in the spring He does have a tendency to put up the yummy stuff and send not so yummy stuff

He does have a tendency to put up the yummy stuff and send not so yummy stuff ^^ this ^^ I have to say this politely because Phil is a member here and he logs in occasionally when he sees his business name show up on Google searches, AND I don't want to come across as having an axe to grind for my past posts about how he claimed up my favorite hunting grounds in the Dead Camel mountains. All things aside, in my experience and in my brother's experience, when buying in 'bulk' from this vendor, the quality tends to fall of the cliff as does customer service if you complain.
