Since we moved 1400 miles a little over a year ago we got rid of a lot, starting about 4 or 5 years ago we had sales a couple times a year to reduce the load, finally giving the last half a ton or so to a neighbor that wes developing an interest in the hobby. We still have probably 10x what I could ever finish, and we're digging again. I still find those that get tossed into a pile after the first slab, some will be tumbles and others will end up in gabions and some other projects we're working on around the place here.

I returned all my leaverites to general vicinity of where I got them. Maybe it will delight another rock hound.
Now days I've very discriminating about what I'll take home.

I occasionally get the thought "what happens if I suddenly and prematurely died?" My poor wife would be left with piles of rocks and no idea what to do with it all.
To prevent this I've been culling and organizing our rocks so it will be easier to liquidate if/when the time comes. We've made a game plan on how to sell it all off as easy as possible if we ever want to.

Many consider it bad form to dump rock at a different collecting location. It causes confusion. After all, one of the characteristics for identification is location.
At home, I have built a rock wall along a walking path with large stones. I have also used large rocks as a garden edge. There are some piles of rocks in the gardens that stared small and somehow grew. Very small stones go into a gavel driveway out back. Once in a while, I look over these discards and discover overlooked gems.
