I have a Star Diamond, looks just like yours, there wasn't a step pulley on the motor when we bought it, just move the belt on top. I don't know if it was original that way. One thing I didn't like about having the motor under the machine was feeling the belt rub on my leg while running, had to be very watchful. When I rebuilt it I put the motor out back. my 2cts.

Now ain't that curious. a Crown Lapidary machine. I have a Crown 8 inch arbor that is the image of a Lortone Max Pro 8 except it has an upside down Poly Arbor instead of a Lortone arbor. It's also that solid blue color Here's a Raytech I helped someone sell, and here's a Star Diamond that came with a load of equipment, hiding under the big saw that Woodman now has. I totally missed that it doesn't have the gold colored top. I wonder if there was any connection between all those companies with similar machines.

Galvanized steel panels all set into it for liner. Next I'll sand the Bondo, then throw epoxy paint on it.

Finished painting, got the arbor reassembled, added new water distribution, wiring it up..... Was a good day. Got a little more to do and I'll call it good.

Rewired it so a GFCI outlet is on board, plus a motor switch. It originally was set up to turn on/off by plugging a ratty cord into an outlet.

That is so dang cool. I love when people bring old iron out of the weeds and back to life.

A true labor of love, Randy RWA3006. You did a great job! Reduce, reuse, recycle! Wish more people would get out of that "throw away" mentality. I'd rather have something older that I fixed and kept out of the dump. A lot of newer stuff is junk.
