Rebel 17 came 3 days early! It looks right at home with the other gals
Gotta try 'em all I guess
Real bearings, real shafts, centrally mounted guides, adjustable feet! Some assembly required
3505grams aka 7.72 lbs. Slightly more than I put in my Thumler AR-12, see how she does.

That's awesome! I would have it loaded in like 5 minutes! 😂 I think you just doubled your capacity. Anyway, have fun with that. I know I would...

You can fit more in there, lol. I typically have 17+ lbs in mine. Both average 22 +/- lbs ready to run.

Depending on what you load in, you can hit 17 -19 lbs easy. I usually fill 75-85% full, I gets plenty of movement, can hear them swoosh and tumble if you put your ear close to the barrel. I've found that the way the rocks fit when you initially load a barrel changes and loosens up as the barrel starts spinning. You'd be surprised how much room the rocks have to move when the load loosens up.

Are you weighing your 17 lbs?
I guess what I'm saying is there is no way I'm fitting 10 more lbs in that barrel.

I was weighing the load when I first got it. Now, I just fill it. I've been tempted to run it a little lighter to see if it made a difference but haven't gotten to that point yet.

I'm due for a barrel check this weekend. I'll weigh everything and post what I have in both. Tomorrow should be a good day for it.

That is a great looking machine! To be honest, I wish those had been available when I got my Model B because the Rebel looks better in just about every way.
Is that a raised edge around the barrel liner? It looks like there is a raised rounded area between the interior of the barrel and the fasteners. If so, I like that design. One of my biggest issues with the Model B is simply opening the thing because the lid liner sticks so bad to the barrel liner. I keep forgetting to lubricate it before I seal it which doesn’t help matters.

That's odd as I am running 2 Model B's with separate lid liners and I have never had an issue with the liner sticking to the barrel liner. Never heard of lubricating to prevent sticking. My other Model B use an old Scott-Murray barrel I picked up. It has the lid liner attached to the steel lid. In over 5 years of continuous running the lid liner is entact and never been replaced. The separate lid liners for the rother two Model B's have both been replaced at least twice in the same time period.

I don't know how the Model B goes, but on top of that raised lip you are talking about goes a thin rubber shield and then a metal plate on top. Then you thread the nuts on.

Thanks, Chad. I think my eyes were playing tricks on me in your original pictures. (Actually, I was looking at them on my phone without my reading glasses, so probably no tricks involved.) Now that I'm looking at it on my laptop, it does look similar to the Model B design. The entire machine looks like a Model B, just better.

I have to pry it up by jamming the washers in, which probably doesn't do the liner any favors. The first time it happened, I did a search and using Armor All or a silicone spray to prevent the sticking. Mine is less than a year old, so maybe it loses some of the stickiness after more use.

As promised. I redid my load as most of what was in there needed some saw & grinder love. New batch is 6lbs of Bahia Agate and 8lbs + ozs of Rainbow Ridge Agate and other stuff. This load is lighter than usual by a few lbs. With just the left over slurry, the barrel was at 6lbs 11ozs. The 14lbs 13ozs is the barrel zeroed and is the weight of the rock. The 25lbs is the barrel + rocks + grit + water buttoned up and ready to roll.

I think it's a combo of me having a couple larger than normal rocks and slabs plus keeping my tumbling process the same..70% of barrel height, etc.
After this week, I'll take a peek and see if there are things to tinker with, like load size.
You have some fun looking stuff in there
