liveoak - So quick update on the moths- came In to work today to find two of the moths emerged from their cocoons! I was bit surprised by their color variation. Here's cpl pics - Based on their antennas I believe they are both males. I'm keeping fingers crossed for some females so can raise some more. Il update again when more emerge.

You know I was wondering the other day & didn't want to seem pesky .
Very cool, they are the most beautiful moths.
How many left to emerge still ?
Many Luna moths for your next project ?

They are quite beautiful, especially for a moth! There are 5 still in cocoons but don't have a lot of hope the runt of the litter emerging. It was abt half the size of the other caterpillars. I thought it would keep eating and growing a bit before making cocoon but guess it got lonely and made its cocoon just few days later than the rest. The cocoon is much smaller so dunno if will have the energy to complete its cycle. When first started this I didn't plan on raising anymore than the first litter. But these were so easy to raise that I've thought about trying some other large moths in future. So if I do I'd really like to try luna moths.
