I was traveling to the Tri-city area this weekend (Kennewick-Pasco-Richland for those of you who don't live in Washington) and decided to hit the Columbia river up for agates. Well, last time we went here, I got skunked. This time is a different story....... IMG_20220326_160802016 by Perkins17, on Flickr This is the "road" I was hiking along while on the hunt. I was sort of "clawing through" the gravels on the side when this monster practically jumped up and bit me! IMG_20220326_170530414 by Perkins17, on Flickr This is a monster Columbia Basin carnelian deep red agate. I got lucky because I was digging through a landslide that was untouched. This area has been hit pretty hard by rockhounds. I was digging here when I found it. See any I missed? I see one you missed! Bottom 1/4 of your picture, just left of center! Looks like a agate!

I bet if there was a light rain in that spot that more would jump out at you to collect

I bet if there was a light rain in that spot that more would jump out at you to collect I had it suggested to me when I was hounding along the river, to take a garden sprayer. It could be filled up in the river whenever it's empty. A one-gallon sprayer wouldn't take up too much space, and be light enough to tote around for the day...

I bet if there was a light rain in that spot that more would jump out at you to collect I bet you're right. Some of the rocks there are pretty cool. I found an awesome jasper that I'll cut and cab up. I'll post it once I'm done.

I brought a spray bottle last time I was here. I tend to hound closer to the water when I can.
