I've been assembling my stash of equipment mostly through Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. I just bought a 6" Hi-Tech Trim Saw as my first piece of "new" equipment. I have received permission from the Chief Financial Officer to spend another small chunk for a vibratory tumbler. I live about 4 miles from Johnson Brothers and they now make the Gy-Roc tumblers now. My question is how much louder is that Gy-Roc as compared to the Lot-O or Mini-Sonic.
I'm heavily leaning toward the Mini-sonic at this point, but if the Gy-Roc is not a ton louder than the mini, I will probably drive over and pick up a Gy-roc.
Thoughts?

The mini sonic is a great tumbler. The hoppers last forever, and it's really easy to use. I haven't tried the gy-roc but can definitely say that the mini sonic is awesome. It's my only vibe and I run it 24/7 for at least 6 months out of the year.

Have never used a Mini-Sonic, or a Lot-O, so cannot compare them to it. Before using the Gyroc, I had only used rotary tumblers. So I was a little startled by how much noise it did put off, lol. (Used it in the garage.) But if you keep it properly full and with the correct amount of moisture, it is not so bad. Besides, it polished those rocks (that have gone through the previous stages in rotaries first) in less than a day. If they manufacture them there, and they have them in stock, what are you waiting for? Drive over and get you one!

I have 3 gyroc B's and one that is a parts machine. It is a quite useful machine. I can only compare them to an old minisonic and a Raytech Vibe 5. Noise wise they all are about the same for loudness. The sound is dampened by slurry once they are running. With a step down pulley system the gyroc can be slowed or sped-up. They look light weight but the bowls hold up well. The top is tough but I did need to fashion a patch when I ate a hole in one with too much grit in the wrong application. The double stack feature, easily replaced parts, and availability are positives, but then again, I like all three of the models I mentioned. BTW mine walks a bit on my shop floor unless I place one leg of the machine on a carpet. On a carpet the whole machine might by quieter.

I just started two Lortone 3# drums in pre-polish and had another 3# drum finished with coarse grit after about 10 days. What I am gonna try is loading the Gyroc with that drum and running from stage 2 to polish and finish the Lortone barrels in pre-polish and polish. I'll see if I can hit the finish line with both at the same time. I have started using my flat lap more often for shaping and it would be nice to have a quick polishing pot to drop them in.

Congratulations! Yay for you. I hope it works out for you and makes you happy.
I don't think you will regret your decision. I love how fast they make shiny rocks.
