ALWAYS look in landscape rocks Back story 10/2020 I thought I saw an agate in the landscape rocks at the new hospital I started working at one day when I walked by. Next time I looked, couldn't find it. Then the snow came. Tuesday, Nate was picking me up from work so I went to the area and glanced down and there it was

Nice rock. Wish I felt comfortable gathering landscape rocks from a fast food place I go to sometimes. Maybe I will talk with the manager and see if I can exchange other pretty rocks for the many fossils and agates in their landscape rocks.

I think I remember Nate calling you the Agate Queen...and if he didn't, he implied it! LOL If you guys ever make it out this way, I'm going out Fairburn Agate hunting with you. I'm going to walk two feet behind you...and as soon as you pause, I'm going to make a headfirst dive and scoop up all the rocks in front of you hoping I got the right one! *Okay, that last part isn't true! LOL - If you guys do ever make it out here though, you'll probably end up with a nice collection of Fairburns the way you've got an eye for seeing them! Nice snag on a "landscape" rock!

He does say I have the agate eye. I always say we find the ones we are meant to find 😊
This one winked at me in the sun so I knew it was there somewhere.
And we are one day for sure headed your way and I'd love to go agate hunting with you!
Beth, I wouldn't say I feel comfortable doing it but I'm quick like a ninja. I've yet to see anything good in Wisconsin landscape rocks so it would be interesting to see what your finding in it

Nice find, Ali! Having an agate eye is way better than having a stink eye.

Nice find, Ali! Having an agate eye is way better than having a stink eye. Only certain things get the stink eye

I've yet to see anything good in Wisconsin landscape rocks so it would be interesting to see what your finding in it There is a landscape/greenhouse place in Plover. They obtain rocks from some local pits that are full of glacial debris. I was once a part time caregive at a day program. Was also hired to restore a neglected garden there. I received a budget to purchase smaller, landscape rocks for walking paths around a raised garden, around the building and other areas. I was amazed at what I found. Also, had to get some larger rocks to hold down the landscape fabric for a border. Found some interesting, larger rocks. I exchanged everything I took from my employer. The landscape place lets people go through their piles and selct rocks for purchase. Last time I was there, they charged $1.00/lb. I have seen these rocks at many local places. Fast food joints and a custom build, modular home company. Lots of coral/creature fossils, agates, crystals and jaspers. If you are ever in the area, let me know. I will let you know the name of landscape place and specifically where I am seeing the wonderful rocks.

I know places where you can find them all day. You just have to carry them is all. Usually not real big either.

Admiring my tulips around the house and found these. I must of walked the landscape gravel 100 times before and never saw them.

Robin still chuckles sometimes when I start "high-grading" landscape rocks - but she's getting used to it.

Robin still chuckles sometimes when I start "high-grading" landscape rocks - but she's getting used to it. That's because the landscape rocks around here generally suck eggs.
