Well I received the black acrylic sheets to make new lids for my 3 lbs barrels. I checked the wear on the original lids and was surprised at how much wear there was in just four months.
This is from using 120/220 SC only and the center at the dimple is less than 1mm thick.
So I made some new lids from black acrylic and I made them 112mm in diameter, the originals were 111mm.
These were cut on a low end laser cutter and I am testing them now.
I have one barrel with gravel filler with 120/220 SC and the other barrel with glass, red gravel and quartz with 60/90 SC.
The new lids fit much tighter than the originals and so far no leaks.

Well so far these lids are working out well. Twice I’ve noticed the bottom of the barrel with the glass bulging so I burped it and still no leaks.

Skillz! For which type of tumbler? The Thumler’s dual barrel A-R2, 3 pound barrels.

Great idea. I don’t have that type of equipment but that looks like an excellent way to reduce variable cost if you do.
