I am very seriously considering buying a respirator from 3M as some protection from rock dusts during cabbing/cutting. What sort of filters do you put on yours canisters/cartridges or otherwise, and what are they rated for? I'm just trying to be a little health conscious and a respirator with filters doesn't seem like too big of an investment for health.

You should just need a particulate filter. You're not going to be dealing with gasses or chemicals. A respirator is a good idea but I go for a good quality disposable mask. It's important to store the respirator properly and it should be cleaned after use. I'm not very good at doing that type of thing so I go with the disposables.

Yeah, I think I over thought it a bit. Disposables get reused or misplaced by me on accident, and it'd be nice to have a permanent mask. I think I'd do okay with cleaning it, but I'll sleep on that advice. Thanks again!
