I live in Nanaimo, BC (Vancouver Island) I have a small collection of beach rocks (and sea glass) that I have collected over the past few years. I am just about to begin rock tumbling as I recieved a rock tumbler on mother's day. I am patiently waiting for my grit and ceramics to arrive. Any newbie tips would be appreciated.

Hello & welcome from Northern Ohio. Lake Erie Beach Rocks are my favorite! I have no patience, so I have no advice. Any specific questions, definitely ask.
What kind of tumbler did you get?? Happy - Late - mothers' day!

Welcome LoveBeachRocks I’m in North Idaho, USA. I don’t know what kind of tumbler you have. Take a little care tumbling glass. It can build pressure and push he top off your barrel. jamesp has probably tumbled more glass than most people. Beach agates are easy. I hope you can find grit easily.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great stuff up there in BC, such as the jade at the Frasier River.

Welcome! patience and using good quality grit (especially at the polish stage) are key. I'm still very new, and I am now starting to go back to my first batches and I am re-polishing some of them because I have learned just enough to know that I can get better results than when I started.

Hi and welcome from Northern Arizona! I suggest you take a look at the Rock Tumbling Board for some great information. I know there are quite a few newbie threads in there that will have some of the same questions you have. Also the Tumbling 101 post pinned at the top of that board might be helpful. Always feel free to ask questions. The folks here are helpful and more than willing to help.

Welcome from Texas! The only advice I have is to experiment a lot and find what works best for you. There is a lot of advice here and most have their own "recipe", so try everything that you can and have fun!
