How low an angle would be needed on water to make it skip Dave ? Why are most of the moon's craters round ? Or is there any oval shapes or trenches at all ? Doesn't it get struck from many angles ?

As I remember from my distant childhood, you have to throw from as low (2-5o ) as you can get to get a decent skip - BUT the stone has to have a flat surface!
