So I took some cabs that I didn't think I'd wrap and glued bails on for pendants or whatever. I have so many cabs laying around so I figured I might as well do something with them. It feels a little like taking the easy way out, but I figured I could sell them for a lot cheaper than wraps. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks for looking!

They’re amazing. That far right one is super cool! They’re all beautiful. Curious what you’re thinking on pricing…partially because I’m working on doing something very similar.
I love this simplicity of these. I’m not a huge wrap fan…so now you have something for everyone!!

Nice! I like'em. Very good idea that I think would really appeal to a lot of folks at shows.

The pink moss in the top middle & 2nd from left in the bottom row are absolutely gorgeous! I like them all, look great, sweet and to the point. The stones speak for themselves. Don't feel like they would short change anybody. Sometimes stoopid simple is the bestest.

I think they look great! I think it's good to offer several different kinds of items. I like simple, too, so these appeal to me. Great cabs, too!

not a bad one in the group. All they need is a leather cord or light chain and voila. Very nice.

I agree with others my friend! I think it's smart to have several different "price levels" to offer people. It's a smart way to use cabs that you know you won't take the time to wrap. I might emulate your thought here my friend...

Funny, my wife and I have been talking about this same thing for the last few days. We have a lot of the types of bail that pinch on to the top of the stone. We also like simple and feel that a lot of times all the accents and flourishes in wire wrapping distract from the beauty of the stone. Plus, it's a helluva lot less work! Your pieces are beautiful.

miket - What adhesive did you use to attach the bails? I thought I read somewhere on here E6000...but I might be remembering wrong. I know Super Glue "can" work...but I thought I remembered an epoxy being mentioned...

I have no interest in jewelry. I know that it is very personal. I am interested in the stone. Sometimes the stone is there enhance the wrap or setting. I have no interest in wrapping and doubt I have any aptitude for it. I have considered silver smithing but would make simple settings for the stone. I've had people ask if I would drill a hole in a cab so they can wear it. a cab that can be worn becomes a pendant. I made some cabochon hair clips and used epoxy to attach the fitting.

I love this simplicity of these. I’m not a huge wrap fan…so now you have something for everyone!! Thanks, I'm glad you like them! Funny story, the one on the far right is a piece of Indian Paint Stone that I dremeled and tried to polish in a vibe- before I knew how soft it is. The edges got destroyed but I couldn't throw it away because I liked the shape. I also knew that I couldn't wrap it so I thought it would be perfect for this! I was thinking of selling these in the neighborhood of $20 to $25, about half of the average cost of my wrapped pendants. Nice! I like'em. Very good idea that I think would really appeal to a lot of folks at shows. Thanks Mel! The pink moss in the top middle & 2nd from left in the bottom row are absolutely gorgeous! I still want to continue wrapping, this is just a side hustle of my side hustle. 😁 I dig it Mike, I would think those will get scooped up fast Thanks Chad! Thanks, Jason! Those were my thoughts as well. I have so many cabs laying around, at least 100 or more. You may as well, I got 120 of these bails for like 12 bucks on Amazon.... I just used the good old E6000, my friend. It's what I used om my daughter's heart key chain that I made and it seems to work well...

I like the beaver tail glue on bails, because they make it easy to share cabs. People wear them or hang them in other ways. That said, I've heard it expressed that the cab is actually likely to sell for a higher price without the bail than with it ( but it will be to a different buyer, and at a more specialized venue). In answer to the adhesive question, I'd strongly recommend E-6000. Its strong and slightly flexible and will not {pop-off) as easily as super glue or other more rigid adhesives. There are women wearing my pendants on 6 continents. They almost all received them as gifts rather than having to purchase them so I'm not damaging anyone else's commercial market.

I doubt any of these cabs would sell for more, but I've never tried to sell just cabs so I guess I don't really know... I like E6000, too, it seems to work well for a lot of applications.
