We probably have one around here somewhere. I don't have the time right now to do any hand lapping. Plus I think my arms would fall off! Good rotary laps are set and forget just like a vibe unit. I think there are threads around here somewhere. I think I might look into it, that part of the saw frame is quite robust and I have 2 welding table tops. It's only 3/8 mild steel but it would test the concept. Good excuse to get a plasma cutter. In my spare time of course, because I have so much of it. (Sarcasm)

I read that you could make more off of them polished, and I would be more than willing to help out with my vibe lap if the need be. I would be worried putting something that breakable and valuable in shipping though. The morrisonite is probably my favorite. Those are some nice rocks. -Nicholas Thanks for the thought, Nicholas. Putting a slab that big in the mail probably would only end in disappointment. I can't remember the last time I got a box in the mail that wasn't scarred up in some way. We actually do have a vibe lap that I totally forgot about. Got it from a friend years ago and it resides in saw shop gathering dust. It's an old one, so I would probably have to find some super balls to replace the ones on there and give it a good cleaning. I need to do some research and see if it would even work. Vince plugged it in many moons ago and it did make some buzzing sound, so I guess the motor still works. Something to play with in my spare time (which is infrequent at the moment).

Yeah you're probably right, especially considering the distance it would have to go. I'm glad to hear that you do have one. I replaced the balls and springs on mine and it works great (except for the cleanup) and I like it. I hope all goes well. Sorry you don't have too much spare time. That was me the last few weeks.

What did you replace the balls with? I used three of the same-size ones from coin-op machines and when I was younger. Somehow I had a few left and I replaced the springs at Lowe's.
