For soldering copper I've found that the copper solder sold that's NOT self fluxing works the best and is at least a darker color than silver solder. I got mine at Rio, but a quick look now and they only have the self fluxing variety which I didn't get as consistent results with.
It takes a lot of heat to melt it, and I've found " Jel-Flux" works the best with it. Also, it's best if you plan to draw the solder away from where your eye will see.
The problem with flash plating, is the layer of copper is so thin that if you do anything to the piece after wards it comes off.

Thanks! I used to use a kind made by a regular person and sold through their small shop. It was the best for color- not perfect but better. And, yeah, it was hard to melt.

Each one is elegant in their own way, very nicely done.
I'm not surprised, your art in wire wrapping is above board, why not smithing I look forward to seeing more of your creations.

Thank you, Patty! Yeah, I will get back to it and hopefully improve on it. Without doubt. Your work in whatever medium has always been world class!

It’s been a long time but I remember using silver solder with copper settings and soldering from the inside of the bezel. It seems that limited the amount of solder showing to very minimal. If soldering from the outside of the bezel a lot more would show. Maybe rockjunquie already tried this…
