Not really sure, but I do want to ask- are the white spots and streaks part of the color pattern or defects in the surface? The colors are nice.

It’s a beautiful rock for sure. I love the pattern and colors. Is it possible that it could be granite?

could be a siltstone cemented with silica. I had a guy bring me some from GA somewhere and it would take a polish.

Siltstone, interesting, read up on that, the part that throws the siltstone off is the blue/gray coloring in it. But I think you might be on to something... I will do more reading on siltstone. It does have a hardness of 6 to 7 which matches this at a 6, did not do a specific gravity test, but that may be next to help narrow it down. But as of right now, this is the best answer across multiple social media platforms.

This looks like owyhee picture jasper. Some of the material is soft and some quite hard. Your sample looks soft.

I have enclosed two cab pictures for what your slab might make. There is variability in the color pattern for this material. This material may be called Cripple Creek.

Your sample looks soft. owyhee picture jasper of all types typically has browns, greens, and sometimes b;ue/green depending on the Specific location, I have quite a bit of that material and this does not match any of it. Right now I believe it is Siltstone and after doing more reading on siltstone, I am thinking that is what this is.

Jawsjr, also try some Succor Creek material and not Cripple Creek. The two cabs match what you think it is.
