That’s a pretty sad excuse for an inside curve, Jason. You aughta be ashamed of yourself. Nice cab, btw.

Great bunch of entries. I'm not going to do the challenge this month, I've had a bad sinus infection since the middle of this month and am on antibiotics that are kicking my butt so I'm too tired to even think straight. Good luck to all. Hope you feel better Diane, nothing worse than feeling sick ( frown )

Di drocknut - hope you get rid of that nasty infection soon. Sinus infections suck. Sending you some healing vibes, my friend!

Thanks Beth! I was in love with this rock when James posted pics in his "Cobble" thread...and he was kind enough to send it to me! Thanks Robin! This is one of those rocks that you wish were about 50 pounds...so there could be TONS of cabs to work! I'm so glad you entered the contest with that cab jasoninsd , that agate is spectacular with so much depth & your polish is something for me to strive for.
That will make a beautiful wrapped pendant - I look forward to seeing it in the future.
Glad you found the time to get an entry in.
Patty
Awww...thanks Patty! I actually had so much fun working on this cab yesterday, I threw caution to the wind and took today off from working on my folks house...and did some more cabbing today! Great bunch of entries. I'm not going to do the challenge this month, I've had a bad sinus infection since the middle of this month and am on antibiotics that are kicking my butt so I'm too tired to even think straight. Good luck to all. Dang Diane! Sorry to hear you've got this going on...like Tela said, summer seems to make it an even worse time to go through it. That’s a pretty sad excuse for an inside curve, Jason. You aughta be ashamed of yourself. Nice cab, btw. Thanks Rich...I think! LOL Thankfully there was no "depth" requirement to the concave curve! LOL

Great entries so far! Where has this month gone? I blinked and it's the 24th already.
I don't see myself getting one done for several reasons mostly involving work and time but also my grinding wheels are 8" and not very suitable for inside curves ... excuses excuses blah blah haha.

I think that there should be a Thumbs DOWN choice on a post- not just a thumbs up ! Sorry you're not open for the challenge ...............
Patty... still working on her entry and there is actually 7 days left to the contest !

Heehee sorry I'm such a disappointment. I might reconsider if I get a day off before the end of the month. I dont know what the math is but an 8" wheel ain't gonna produce much of a visible inside curve. I used to try when I was building cabs a lot and it was never very impressive.

Here's mine. Inside curves are at about 7 1/2" diameter, just sayin... Durango Amethyst Lace. I learned how difficult it is to photograph too. Slab The cab in the light box The cab out in the sun. First shows the transparency but the pink part is obscured. In think the 2nd one with flash is the best pic color wise, but makes it look like there are more surface imperfections than there are and doesn't show how polished it is. Side view Video

Well Tommy, the rules say Any size , any curve, so I don't think you can use that excuse , I think you'd have to come up with a better one
Patty.. just sayin'

Tommy - You're gonna work yourself to death my friend! I'm glad someone noticed that "8 inch wheels" was actually third on my list of excuses...

Seriously, Tommy Jason is correct, don't stress. I'm semi retired, my shop has AC, and I opened the right box of slabs last week. There's a contest every month, and your entries are top notch. Plus, you manage to start the thread and set it up for judging every month, not a simple task. The name of this contest was originally the fun cab contest, for a long time it wasn't often fun for me to enter a cab every month so I skipped a lot, we all have our seasons.

Stunning cab, Lee Rockoonz! Tommy don't fret -- I'm not getting one done either. It's actually been several months since I entered one. Work and my muse playing hooky are my excuses.

Good luck to all. Ugh... nasty. It's even worse when it's in the summer. I hope you feel better soon. I agree, being sick in summer especially since we've had a lot of monsoon rain and humidity along with the usual 100 degree temperatures. Thanks, I hope I feel better soon too. ;-)
