The only thing I can think of is Silkstone. Wild guess. Interesting Robin.
When I google Silkstone - the rocks I see have a similar sheen to it . This one is almost glittery in it's angles.
But I see lots of colors , mine is more blue gray .
Have to investigate further on the silkstone- thanks for the clue. I do like the name of it, so hope it is.
The funniest thing is that the google search also brings up "Barbie" with her silkstone collection ! Who knew
Thanks again all for letting me pick your brains.

Maybe or Carrasite. Just guessing again. Funny, again when I do a google search for carrasite, I saw a cab with that same pea soup green color & less of a pattern than most of the morrisonite did.
How in the world do people positively ID things like this, or do you finally just decide it's one or the other & call it done ?
Thanks for the help,
Patty

I have never seen silkstone with a blue grey color. That's why it's a guess. Silkstone is found in MN along with its brighter partner Binghamite which is also chatoyant. ETA: Just found this on a search.

Carrasite is Morrisonite's cousin. Another two found very close to each other. They can look alike and do have similar colors in some instances.

Your silkstone guess might not be too far at all.
This stone is very dense & has parallel layers, and a sheen.
Thank you Robin Maybe this weekend I can get a slab cut of it & show it's true color & flare.

Robin is so right about carrasite and morrisonite. I usually look for the colors. Carrisite, in my experience, has more pastel colors than morrisonite. Both have what are called "streamers" which is the thin flowing lines of colors. Morrisonite can have more orbs.

Mystery 4 is compelling picture, Patty Epidoty with some interesting mineral inclusions? Funny-- just googling mineral inclusion To see if I have the right nomenclature I was trying to express Came across this on wiki Might be worth a perusal en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inclusion_(mineral)

I'm not so sure mohs, all that epidoty looks like crystal formations- & this one is anything but a crystal. I'm leaning towards the girls being right with carrasite or morrisonite.
But thanks for looking.
The 3rd one is still a puzzler to me -
I like Robin's ( hummingbirdstones ) silkstone on one level & then my husband came in for lunch & said what about the hexagonal crystal aspect ?
So I guess I need to cut that one & see what it looks like under the weathering.

Ok I have another
Mystery 3
This one is interesting - it's a hexagonal crystal ( or at least shaped like one)
It has a grayish blue to the face.
Mohs 7
Patty
. This looks like a section of a beryl crystal. I wouldn’t consider it aquamarine. Many east coast pegmatites had large amounts of these back in the day that were mined for the beryllium content.
