I have heard that there is no petrified wood in Wisconsin due to erosion, glaciers, and large hoards of tree eating cyclops that once called Wisconsin home (2 of these 3 anyway). So found this in a area with several agate and jasper nodules and if it's not petrified wood, it's the largest coral look-alike I've ever encountered. Material is mostly microcrystalline quartz (not sure about a small inside brown area) and is very heavy. Let me know what you all think. Front: Back: Top: Bottom: Right Side: Left Side

Looks like something volcanic in origin.

Looks like wood to me because of the vascular structure in your "top" picture. This sample looks like a lot of decay occurred before silicifying and then a lot of tumbling.
