I’ve really learned a lot watching Gly and friends document abandoned and forgotten mines throughout the southwest.

We all know mumbles the clown isn't getting any better during his speeches. Before long, we'll need one of these!

Another one of my pets that I went to visit today. A giant pet rock named the Big Teredo. It's a huge concretion with a log of Teredo wood in it. Fandiddlytastic!

Brian beefjello , sorry for the long delay in getting that information to you. (And in such a round-a-bout way, lol.) Hope it was worth the wait. Now you know. It's always worth the wait

I believe you are correct, Son Of Beach. An RTHling living in AZ, Brian beefjello, took photos of the very same plant, while on a rock expedition to one of his favorite rock hounding locations - in Arizona. Funny that the same plant is found over such a wide range. Ahh very cool!

Frog eggs? Some bamboo growing down there and some gourds. No clue how that got there. Robin, I think the frog eggs are just air bubbles. CO2 expelled from the green algae they are on? If they were frog eggs, they would have a darkish center to them. As for the misplaced bamboo, at first I thought it might be giant reed grass. Then I enlarged it, and can clearly see brown woody stems that branch off the main truck. So not a grass or bamboo. I'll go with willow. I have a small one in my yard, looks just like that. The seed for it hitched a ride here in dirt from one of our prospecting trips. Isn't the Verde River where beefjello like to haunt and hunt? He always comes home with some mighty fine rocks! Thanks for your trip pics, I enjyed them! Affirmative

Hiya' Brian!
You sure got some nice ones there. We've thought about going over to the river a couple of times recently, but haven't done it yet.
I'm really interested in the gray/white one in the photo below. Parts of it remind me of a small unidentified rock we got in a collection. Hope you'll post some photos of what it looks like inside someday.
Cheers!
Hey Vince, the back side of that one is the pic I posted a little further down.. I'm pretty sure it's from the same deposit as this one I found long ago, and slabbed just last year forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/90868/slabbin-againSort of a loose filament tubey moss thing. Some day I hope to source it
