Hi, I'm Chris, I joined to get tips and share experiences with cutting and polishing materials. I'm currently trying to figure out an issue I'm having with my Diamond Pacific vibratory tumbler.

Greetings and Welcome to RTH Forums from Bonnybridge, Scotland.
What tumbler and what's you issue
I have a pair of 14lb Viking Vibrasonics one is 48 and the other is 50 years old, and still work the same if they were brand new, Diamond Pacific now owns the rights to these.

Hi… Troy from Reno, Nevada. Hobbyist / rockhounder for many years… getting back into the last 6-8 months and keep referring to posts for pointers, figured it was time to join and stop lurking haha. I have a 18lb Vibe, 2 Dual Barrel Rotary Tumblers, a slab / trim saw, and some basic grinders. Getting back into it and starting to cab and shape my stones lately, thinking about making some jewelry possibly.
Really like some help identifying some finds from time to time… for example the attached rock image has me curious. Found near the Trinity Mountains near Pyramid Lake, a highly volcanic area. This looked like a simple piece of Basalt but it felt overly heavy, had a suspicion this unassuming piece may be hiding something. After the initial cut I saw the interior formation of minerals inside.
The gray area is much harder than the surrounding material, and also smoother / glassy to the touch. Appears to be clear / milky crystals throughout the gray area with flecks of black feldspar / magnetite?
The regolith surrounding the gray area shows lots of color, what appear to be little gem like pieces in varying colors (red, green, yellows)
Curious what your think? Unsure how to classify / identify it. Thinking it could be a Basalt bomb as those can be found in our region, at least from what I’ve read in research.

I love it when new members can get Cloudinary figured out so they can start posting photos immediately. I don't know what your rock is, but it is certainly interesting. Welcome to the forum from SoCal.
