I'm on Stage 2 tumbling my first batch of rocks. I don't know much. I've enjoyed watching Michigan Rocks and some other YouTube videos, I follow r/rockhounds on Reddit and in addition I did some online searching after I decided to buy a tumbler. I am starting with a Harbor Freight 2-barrel. I had to return the first one when it quit after one day. I learned how to change a belt on that one though. My #2 has been chugging away for almost two weeks. I hope to learn a lot from experienced hounds and tumblers.

Hi & welcome from Georgia.
The HF tumblers come in 2 types, bulletproof and mostly dead out of the box. Start looking for a replacement now. Mine ran for a year before I unplugged it. It still runs but I'm rolling bigger barrels now.

I got started (restarted) tumbling watching Michigan Rocks on youtube and I am also on Reddit. Though I am new to the hobby, I try to answer questions there from what I've learned from youtube, this forum, and my limited experience. I point most to this forum and Michigan Rocks. Rob is a great teacher. Folks here are very friendly and as one member posted, enablers. LOL
