I get the glass cutter, but how and why did you use the vise? Or, is that a dumb question? LOL!

Nope. Sorry. A glass cutter won't work to cut slabs! *Kidding...I remember our discussion about the "doubt" that was expressed to you! LOL Fast and easy!!

For random slab divisions with fair control glass and tile nippers do a good job in a quick Starguy.

Hope all of you will tell us more about this process with the glass cutter. Does it work on agates? If any of you have had success with cutting slabs with the glass cutter, could you explain the process for those of us that want to learn more.

A 1/4" is easy. 3/8" starts to be a challenge for it. A scribed line helps control the fracture direction. splitting an 8" x 2" slab into 4 - 2" x 2" pieces is easy for most materials.

Put an order on this and a glass cutter 🚛

quartzillaThey work pretty good. I have two of them. Any high quality agate slab works. Brazilian and Montana agates are shown in the photo. It doesn’t work on fibrous rocks like tiger eye. Delicately fortified agates like Mexican lace can be problematic. Sometimes the layers in the fortifications are weaker than the score line and they can break along the layers instead. Other than that I’ve had pretty good luck.
