The three pounder finished another batch today. There were some nice agates in there. I ran them for three days in Tripoli between pre-polish and polish. I think the final result is a little better than average. Nodules sawed up for the tumbler. Unsawed nodules The rest, smalls and chips My favorites. The big bot in the middle is almost all shadow on that side. thanks for looking. It was a fun batch to watch progress.

Looking good Brent, lots of eye candy in there. Digging the pink and cream colored ones, and that big one looks like a prize stone.

Looking good Brent, lots of eye candy in there. Digging the pink and cream colored ones, and that big one looks like a prize stone. Thanks Chad. The pinkish ones are Mozambique agate. I got a bunch on eBay a while ago. They’re just starting to show up in tumbles. I got a lot of small but very nice slabs from some of them. Super slick! The big bot in the middle reminded me of the peacock feathers。 Thank you. I hadn’t thought of a peacock feather, but now that you mention it, it does. One side of it has some of the best parallax shadow I’ve seen. Brent, I truly am in awe every time I see your tumbles. You nailed this batch my friend!! Tumbles truly don't get any better than this! Thanks Jason. It’s so difficult to compare how a polish turned out, but this one turned out a little better than average by my eye. I’ve had a bag of Tripoli sitting around for decades. I decided to try some as a post-pre-polish. I might try it for more than three days next batch. The trouble is, I added some plastic pellets in polish too. I don’t usually do that so the plastic could be the reason for a better polish.

Brent - those are gorgeous to look at! So much shine and color. I really love the littles. I'm finding that I really enjoy tumbling my saw scraps because they are mostly already shaped nicely and they really polish up well. Thanks for sharing!

Sometimes I’ll use a glass cutter on agate slabs that aren’t very interesting. I cleaned out a tumbler with some flint in it. It’s shaping up nicely. I can already tell it’s going to polish well.

Wow! Super shine and shaped to perfection. The scraps turned into gems for sure. I was given some tripoli but I don't know anything about it. I'll look into it. Thanks for sharing.

That’s an Alimajo agate. I got some from HP lapidary. They’ve been pretty fun to tumble but the price seems high for how few turn out nicely. Most are hollow or soft in the center. They also have some very durable and deep pockets of host rock that doesn’t polish. The few nice ones I’ve managed to finish have been stunning but there’s better agate nodules out there for the money. Holy moly, look at that shine!! Fantastic batch! Thank you. I’m always tickled when the polish turns out better than average. That’s the seventh 3 pounder finished this year and top 2 for polish.

Wow! I love the Bots and that’s an amazing shine on all. Thanks. Bots have been some of my favorite tumbler fodder for a long time. Same here. Ive gotten them from seven or eight different locations, and each batch is different. From the little ones, the size of marbles all the way to ones almost the size of my first. They are definitely one of my favorite agates to tumble.
