Ice fishing requires warm socks. About 10 or more years ago, connrock said he used thin thermal socks when ice fishing and they kept his feet warm. I ordered some. They were wonderful. I need more. However, the website doesn’t seem to carry them now. Suggestions? What do you suggest. I’m not ice fishing, but when I work in my shed, my feet get very cold and just generally cold during the day.

Neoprene socks are great for keeping the feet warm and they are waterproof.
Aluminized socks, which use aluminum threads are not waterproof, but they do reflect heat back to the skin.
Being easily cold all the time is usually a sign of hypothyroidism, which is very often missed by lab tests for a couple of reasons and is more common in women due to their higher estrogen levels. Best way to detect hypothyroidism is by doing basal body temperature readings each morning for at least a week to get a good average. Hypothyroidism missed by lab tests will show as an abnormally low body temp average below 97.6F.
Symptoms of hypothyroidism can include weight gain in some cases, dry hair and skin, hair loss, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, slow heart rate, mental fog, cold intolerance, and cold hands and feet from Raynaud's phenomena, etc. Hypothyroidism can also lead to other problems people often due not associate such as high cholesterol due to decreased fat metabolism, and am increased risk of heart disease and cancer due to elevated homocysteine levels. This is why it is very important to address most cases of hypothyroidism.

Wear a hat, and put a small heater by your feet

I love Darn Tough merino wool socks. They're expensive but durable, and come with a lifetime warranty. You have to wait until a few of them have defects as it's not economically wise to do just 1, but if you spend $8 to mail them a package of socks with holes, they'll mail you back brand new ones. They're soft, comfortable, breathable warm, and durable. Very popular in the backpacking community. You can find them at REI and many retailers online. I am guessing you'd prefer a warmer option like the battery powered ones, but thought I'd mention Darn Tough just in case you don't want to have to worry about charging your socks! It looks a bit ridiculous, but I also wear the men's version of these as it's cold where I work downstairs, around 60-62°F. www.rei.com/product/159464Combined, I never have cold feet.

Pat from someone that does ice fish and has in -40 (we didn't stay long) you NEED wool socks and room in your boots. Not squished in there. Air actually helps create a insulation layer. Also, good cold rated boots help
Edited to say. I just bought myself a pair of Steger's Mukluks. They are made up in Ely. She has a really cool blog that explains the history of them. I got a pair rated for -40

Thank you, everyone. I’ve learned a lot. I’m checking out all suggestions.
So far, I’ve ordered the UGG sheepskin insoles and a pair of socks with aluminum threads similar to my current pair.
I have a small space heater under my workbench, which is nice, but I walk around a lot. I suspect a hat would fix my cold nose. Don’t want a nose mitten!
My hands aren’t cold, just feet on cold concrete floor.
Thanks!

I have ice cold feet in the winter. Got a bit of frost nip in my toes a couple of times growing up, where they swelled up and turned purple, and the effects are life long.
The best/warmest sock that has ever adorned my feet is made in Vermont, Darn Tough is the brand. Get medium or heavy weight socks for serious cold needs. They are expensive socks, however they are also guaranteed for a lifetime. And worth the money! I haven’t yet found anything that gets even close, in terms of warmth, and I’ve tried a lot over the years. If you try a pair or 2, I am sure you won’t be unhappy.

Definitely recommend some sort of thermal barrier like a rubber sole that will slow the heat transfer out of your tootsies.
