I just found this forum while looking for tumblers. I have been rockhounding around my town for the last year or so. Mostly just picking things up on walks. I live in Encampment, Wyoming, so I am surrounded by mountains and old mining areas.
Any recommendations for a better rock tumbler than my son's broken NatGeo is appreciated! I have been told Lortone is a good, reliable brand.

Hi Martha, welcome from Washington State. Lortone is a great tumbler, preferably the 33B, double barrel. Lots of everything to find out there in WY.

Welcome Martha from Las Vegas.
Both Loretone and Thumblers are great tumblers.

Welcome from Central California! You've gotten some good recommendations. HP also has a new interesting looking one. It hasn't stood the test of time like the others mentioned. The Rebel also seems to be getting high marks but you might want to start with a smaller size then they make. Takes a lot of rocks to fill that barrel.

Welcome. Only have one tumbler. 33B. Mostly brass but the rocks are catching up. Mine is around 10 years old and no complaints. Have just needed to replace belts, keep oiled and did buy an additional barrel for polish only. I am considering a vibratory tumbler but the equipment I have been looking for has been out of stock.
