Hi there! I am new to the forum and a very beginner tumbler. I have a two barrel tumbler and have so far tumbled 2 batches of variety agate Jasper and petrified wood that I’ve picked up around the area. I have a few pieces of small Oregon sunstone I want to polish 1/2 inch or smaller. Should I polish them by themselves using plastic pellets for backfill and just my usual grit? Any recommendations on type of grits to use?

Welcome from Central California. No experience with them myself but it seems like I remember hearing they are a little on the soft side. A quick forum search brought up this from a member I'm not familiar with. Looks like he got some great results using plenty of cushion and skipping the coarse grit. Share some pics when you're done, or better yet share some pics of your process!
