Welcome to the forum from Washington state. I'd love to see photos of what you have. I've heard of them before and I believe they are Olivine or Peridot. Here is an article I just found about them;
Peridot is the only gemstone that is commercially valuable in Hawaii. Peridot is a type of volcanic eruption that only appears on the surface of the mantle. The mineral livine is the foundation of Hawaii’s famous green sand beaches, and it is a significant component of the state’s landscape. Despite the fact that obsidian is revered in Hawaii, the state prohibits the taking of samples. The only place in the state where obsidian can be found is near Huallai volcano. When visiting Hawaii, it is not uncommon to find black coral on the beach. This gemstone is not only the state gemstone of Hawaii, but it is also one of the only local minerals found on the island.
