Tumbler's are worth ~$455 new, so you are getting the rest of the stuff for free.

If the Lot-O has a FASCO motor I would plan on replacing it in a year. It seems like it has lasted for some folks, but that seems to be the exception not the rule.

But I also know about the concrete motor modification, so I’d go that direction if there was an issue. If I end up getting it that is. I’ll know by this weekend.

I agree with dillonf about the deal, and if the Mohs test kit is the one I think it is, that would be great to have. The miscellaneous rocks might be good ones too. I'd probably go for it.

My second one has an IMESA, it is notably better. Not sure what the first gen motor was.

I’m going to go ahead and get it all. It’s a big investment for me right now, but a good deal. He is also throwing in relatively new National Geographic Tumblr. That’ll make a good gift to a kid or something. And it looks like there is a ton of miscellaneous stuff, large bags of Rock Shed grit, Rock, ceramics… he bought it all at the beginning of the pandemic and didn’t like it. Typical guy that goes all in on a hobby and then says forget it. I don’t really need a hardness kit. It’s a Deluxe and comes in a wood case. I believe it’s New so I’ll sell it or trade it out. Not sure if the good Lot-o motors were used several years ago and they recently switched but whatever, I can rig a concrete motor if needed. Meeting the guy this weekend and hopefully it happens.

Congratulations! Hey, if the motor fails, you can hook a chain up to the bike and get exercise and rocks at the same time.

Great, he had the right idea when he bought it. Hope it serves you well, and thanks for sharing.

At first I was getting the whole package mainly to get the Lortone tumbler. I’ve always been intrigued by the Lot-O but wasn’t sure that I wanted one. Now, after messing around with it last night, I absolutely love it! I can’t believe how quiet it is and easy to load/check compared to my Raytech 5. Took me about an hour of trial and error before I got the rotation going. This morning the slurry looks great and action beautiful. I am so happy I got this thing and can’t wait to see first results! As for the Lortone, it works great and I am extremely happy with it as well. The new base for my other dual 3lb tumbler came in also, so now I feel like my set up is finally complete.
