Hi Maz,, Every digital camers basically does the same thing,,,,,,take photo's but also every camera mfg has their own way of setting it up in any particular camer. You'll have to play around with "your" camera until you are satisfied with the results you get. There's one thing I can say though.I see a lot of people trying to take close up photo's a LOT closer then their camera is capable of doing which results in some pretty blurry results. \Don't try to make your camera do something it's not able to do and you'll be just fine. 3.2 mega pixel ain't too bad!! You should be able keep those blurred pics to a minimum! ;D ;D
Good advice from connrock. Also practice, practice, practice. It fun and no film expense, just recharge the batts!
Btw, what make is your new camera?

If you only have one set of batteries, get another set. If you didn't get a battery charger with it, get one. You'll find you go through batteries really fast, especially if you use the flash. Practice, practice practice and learn to use the photo software that came with it, or another image program if you have it. There's a free, easy to use program available called Irfanview for resizing photos so they fit better in the posts too. zdnet.com.com/3000-2192-10021962.htmlpages.prodigy.net/bestsmileys1/signs/RockOn.gif [/img] [glow=red,2,300] ~ Cher ~[/glow]

Hello Mazanec,
If you have never had a digital camera ... you are going to love it!
Depending on what kind of photo card you got with your camera ... you might want another photo card.
I have a HP 618 model and I have just finished taking my 7,508th photo! Oh, yea ... these are nice! It originally came with a 14MB card which allowed me to ake between 12 and 14 photo's. Then you had to unload the photo's, remove the old photo's and then take more photo's. I now have a 256MB card (it is the exact same size as the 14MB card) ... but, this card allows me to take up to 254 photo's. So, if we are going on a trip or vacation ... we definitely make sure the 256MB card is in the camera.
I have three sets of batteries, two battery chargers (both ac and dc - 120 Volt or 12 Volt). That way I can plug into the cigerette lighter in the car and either take photo's or re-charge the batteries.
You'll really enjoy the digital camera ...they are incredible!
Have a great day!
John

Congratulations on your dig cam.
Is the best thing I did when I bought my Sony Mavice. It has floppy disks , and I have made more fotos with it that I can remember, but quite easy to take at least 2000 shots on an 8 week holiday , like to Alaska and USA a few years ago , or to Europe last april. I have plenty floppy disks and 3 batteries Haha, needed them too on my trip up Mt Etna or to the glaciers of Alaska .
And not to mention our own little country with so much beauty.
Indeed as others said before me ...practice ..etc
Enjoy
Jack

Sunlight Maz - take your rock pics in sunlight.......
Choose the brightest day and you will catch the shine better than any false lighting.
But if your rocks aint smooth - sunlight will show the flaws - so its a double edged sword.
3.2 will produce excellent pics - frameworthy infact. If you want to print them, ensure you have a good pixel count on the printer too.
Andy.

Not planning on taking too many. I have 128 Mb IIRC. Sunlit day? In the Cleveland area!? I gave away my best ones, so I will probably wait for the jasper to be done.
