Heya all! Newbie here from NY’s great glacial deposit - you want quartzite? WE GOT ALL THE QUARTZITE!
Been collecting rocks and minerals since I was a wee one, begged my parents for a rock tumbler every Christmas until I finally got one around 1989 and we ran that baby until it broke down. (Which didn’t take more than a few months, haha.)
Just recently got elbows-deep back into my love for rocks/gems/minerals and bought myself a new tumbler to see what I could do with the hundreds of thousands of pounds of quartz and quartzite, as well the other various stones I find along the shores of Long Island while out fishing. Finally have my first batch of rocks on their second stage, and tomorrow is the start of stage 3. Headed up to the Catskills area in May so I’m hoping to come back with some non-glacial-deposit stones to tumble and a pocket full of fossil impressions!
Shoutout to Michigan Rocks on YouTube, which is how I heard about this forum - look forwards to learning and sharing with everyone!

Welcome from Central California. I think Rob MichiganRocks is the number 1 recruiter here. I think you tagged the wrong guy. Rob is Jugglerguy because he's a heck of a juggler.

Saw the Petoskey Stone and the username and went “OMG IT’S HIM YAY!!!” haha - thanks so much for all the vids, the forum referral, and for the welcome! (That clip of you juggling the flaming torches on the unicycle during the “one year tumble” video was the giveaway. …was also SUPER IMPRESSIVE.) Same to everyone else too, thank you for the warm welcome! Eventually I’ll get on my PC and upload an avatar, I’ll try to make it more interesting than my enormous quartz stash. (…..no seriously, if anyone ever wants beach quartz, I got you. Pink granite, too. Might not tumble well BUT shiny mica inclusions make brain go brrrrrrrrrr.)

Welcome from Arizona @wary Raptor. Don 't overlook all those glacial deposit stones. Some of them are diamonds.
