Saw where you wanted to post these so am putting them here --- the first is just a pic of some of the big ones ( @ 1/2" square) then there were some small oval and medium size ones --- the ones on the bottom are 1/4" or less wide I decided to smooth them out on a flat lap instead of doping them all, I just hand held them ---boy, was that fun ! this next one is kinda fuzzy but you can see my thumb nail ---part is missing --- that 1200 grit lap really makes it shine !! ;D when I got done straightening out the edges I dropped them in a vib to finish them up --- by lapping them I was able to start them in a 1200 grit tub

Cool looking stones Dave. In that last pic, I thought you were showing us your stash of meds down inside the tub. Then I saw that you pouring the stones into the tub so I figured those were ceramic pellets.

Oh, whew - ceramic pellets, eh? Good. I was worrying he put some maggots in there!!!
Nice stone cutting and grinding. The shapes are really nice. I'm making a mental note of that fingernail issue!

See! Isn't Snowdog the bestest! All of these forms were given to me by "Grandpa Wilburs" family. They came in a glass jar with a bunch of other stuff. Dave seems to think most of them are Montana agates. I think the same, but I bow to his experience. Ya'll should have heard him chuckle on the phone when he called to say he'd taken a look! (Well...I told him some were small!) But to him the large ones were what he would have labeled small to begin with! So...Thank You Snow for posting the pics! I better get the photo thing down by the time he gets these cabs back to me. I'v got a plan for a necklace using alot of the cabs that I've never seen done before! I'm gonna send you some Tulip salve for losing part of yer finger!

That's truly amazing! All those cabs are each and every one of them great little works of art. But what's truly amazing is that you still have that much fingernail left!

here is one more pic of some of the smaller ones before I started on them --notice the angle cuts on the ends, saw marks on the faces, etc. -- these were the mid-sized ones @ 1/4-3/8 ths" wide and @ 3/8- 1/2 " long some had also already been thu the tumbling stages but had fractures in them so I tried to cut them down even smaller to get rid of the bad spots --- was just glad they didn't have to be a certain size in the end!

Wow look at the shine, no wonder you lost part of your fingernail. ;D I do that all the time on the workforce too.

Dang Dave! I'm going to have to confiscate your diamond wheels. It's for your own protection.
