I got in on a late bid for a digital camera last night on ebay. I don't know didily about digital cameras, but it has macro at 8 inches, high quaulity for 16 pics, so I'm assuming it will suit my needs. It's a factory refurbished Olympus D390, 16 MB. Don't even know what that means, so maybe you can tell me Got it for $66.00 plus shipping ($84.00 total). How'd I do? *afraid to ask* Maybe I can post now and *biting the back of my hand* go on ebay cookie

Good for you Cookie, I have a friend that got a similar deal and they love the camera. 16 meg is the smart card that records the pics. Read the book so you know how to set the camera, you should be able to take about 30 pics on that media with good results. Oh you lucky person you....a digital cam...wow... Hey cookie...if I am not mistaken you will be able to download all your pics directly to your computer...how cool is that eh? Once you get used to using your new cam...you may want to get a few extra cards for field trips ,,etc..should be able to get some 16 mb or maybe a 32 mb card for that cam.....always nice to have an extra card when the one you are using gets full......

Cookie, WTG! That's excellent! Sure hope it works well for you!
That sounds like my old digital camera that went into retirement when we got our sons camera. You should be able to get the software that comes with it online if they don't include it with the camera. If not, let me know and I'll dig out my copy.

I used to do a lot of commerical Photo work back in the 70s and 80s. For objects like Rocks, Jewelery, guns etc you can make a small tent out of white cotton bed sheet material..put the object inside and the tent will soften the shadows and help with subtle details. Also a cylinder like tent will work as well.
