I had the chance to do some cutting today and made my first pendants! I traced a couple shapes on a couple slabs and after that I just started 'freeforming'. These will be jumping into the tumbler during my recharge tomorrow The sun was starting to go down and glaring as I took these. The greens and round one are from slabs I got from Snowdog. The yellow ones are from a slab I got in Quartzsite. The one to the right thats shaped like a Tylenol is from Maricopa, the top is periwinkle agate and the rest are from Bouse, Brazil and Brenda. I'm bad about not putting something down for scale.. but this one was traced from the bottom of a shot glass. The Brazils chipped a lot but hopefully will shape out ok: Freeform Brenda Periwinkle agate Thanks for lookin'

Those are cool! You have some nice shapes there and the material is beautiful. It'll be fun to see the finished pendants.

Looking forward to the end product. What type of tumbler are you using?

The chips should tumble out just fine. You could even speed up the process with a bench grinder, whit a silicon carbide wheel installed but I'd give those a try first. Keep us updated, those look great!!

Very cool!! I always like to see someone trying shapes for the first time... It really opens up the possibilities of what you can do. If I can offer - on the ones that chip, like the Brazilians, you can try beveling the edges just a bit with the side of the saw blade. They'll come out cleaner and you won't have to tumble as long. It's not difficult to do and is worth the effort. PM me if you would like to see some examples. Dan

Thanks everyone! I'm very excited to check on these in a few days! Jeremy I got these rolling in my Model B Thumler. To this point it's been my only tumbler, and so far I haven't gone past course grind (I've done 4 recharges and have been pulling out whats ready each time). This week I'll be getting my second tumbler, an AR12, and have enough ready to move on to the second stage!!! Kim I did them all on my Workforce. My grinder is still prolly a couple months away I appreciate the comments and you can bet I'll keep ya posted! ;D
