... because I keep buying rocks. I have 76 feedback on ebay in the last 12 months. Do you think I have a problem? My latest acquisition is 30 pounds of Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper. I just couldn't help myself. I actually bought 22#, but they threw in an extra 8# (including slabs). The rocks came in 2 flat rate boxes - $16.20, right? No, they only charged me $8.50. Can you tell I like this seller. pjr_enterprises One warning, there was a bit more fracturing than I expected, but some pieces didn't appear to have any - and it was stated that the rocks did have fractures. And between the break on shipping and all the freebies, it came out to just over $4 per pound. Good price - I think. They sell everything from slabs to 25# boulders. Here are a couple pics taken outside. Wet but no sun. I'm done buying rocks now... until the next time.

ok, let's see ---- 12 months X 31 ==365 d/yr. divided by 76 ---- is only one buy about every 5 days ------ so if you work 5 days a week and only buy one day a week --- your work habit is alot worse than your "buying " habit !! ;D ;D --- need to get those two changed around !------------- now the only thing I see is you need a bigger saw to cut up those big chunks of jasper ------- you're just one "buy" away from being able to cut them !! ;D

You have found a good seller! That is some prime poppy jasper, VERY hard to pass on a deal like that. I've been wanting a slab saw for years but I find some spendy slabs or rough and just can't let it pass.

Damn dude, I live 25 minutes away from Morgan Hill and haven't seen material that nice for sale in the 2 local rock shops and definitely not at that price. Fractures are just the nature of that stuff because it sits on a major faultline and a minor one as well, so it's gotten shaken up quite a bit over the years but it is such a cool looking stone that I think it's well worth working around the fractures. Nice score.

Man that does look like some real fine Poppy Jasper! Sounds like a great seller too! Like Ed says, way better looking than the run of the mill Morgan Hill stuff I usually see at shows. Most all of the poppy jasper has fractures and that is a dang fine price too. Last year at the Snyder Ranch Pow Wow, the average price was over $10 per pound for Morgan Hills and much was $12-15 per pound and none I saw looked as good as what you got..mel

Thanks for the input everyone. You're all making me feel even better about my purchase than I already did. I was never overly concerned about the fractures - I am a tumbler after all. Just wanted to mention it so no one was surprised if they bought some.
Another note on the seller. They appear to be new on ebay by the feedback rating. So get some of this now before word gets out and you have to start paying what it is worth.

Hey,Toad I may be wrong, but didn't you just sell some stuff, because you had too much? LOL

Yes, but it was redundant stuff. I still have bunches of what I sold. I didn't have any Poppies.
See? Perfectly logical.

That was a super deal; no reason to question why you bought that.

Toad- Awesome Buy- If you tumble that stuff really keep an eye on the fractures- they seem to let go at the worst time (Like say just as your finishing up the polish cycle) But with careful selection you will have some Wonderful rocks!!!

Wow Toad, that is an awesome price. I pay more than double that when I go to San Jose (close by Morgan Hill and Ed). That type of japser is very fractured and those fractures can surprise you when you least expect it. But the results are worth it. That is some real nice looking material too. Steve
