I envy your organization! That's a nice set up. I hope to add a vibe to the arsenal before the years end. Nice!

Looks like you're right Daniel. Everyone has much shorter intervals than 1 week. Guess I'll be getting that first batch done quiocker than I thought. WOOHOO!

Okay, a few observations: Way too neat and organized.
You need more tumblers to finish all those rocks in your lifetime.
You definitely don't live in earthquake country!
You need to get rid of other stuff to make more room for your lapidary activity!
Other than that, great work area.

There is an empty space on that table! You need another machine to fill it. Nice work area Toad! You're right Joe. I need another Lortone to help get me through the rough grind. It's a big bottleneck...

I would not underestimate how aggressive 120g can be in a 10# Gy-Roc. You need to change out the grit daily, but in 4-5 days most of the rough looks as rounded as several weeks in a rotary.

I am not using 120. I do the rough grind in the Lortone - 60/90 until the rocks are perfectly smooth. Then the first phase in the gy-roc is 220.

Yes, but what I am saying is that if you have a bottle neck, you can do 120 in the Gy-Roc and get 10lbs fairly well along in 7-8 days.

Sweet setup there. It does look very organized and neat. Maybe after a while it will look more normal.
Yeah, want to organize my rock "area" too? Bring an extra change of clothes. My wife complains that everything in the garage has a layer of mineral oil/rock goo on it.
And where can I get an antigravity bike like yours? Steve

Daniel, don't think I can do the rough (120) grind in the gy-roc as my rough rock is all hammer broken. Isn't a rotary pretty much required to get pleasing shapes if you don't have a saw?
Steve, you can have the bike - that way I won't be banging my head on it anymore.

Well, I think you should do the experiment. I have bought some lots of tumble rough in flat-rate quantities, or got some for members here. I put a lot of it into the 10# Gy-Roc. Now, I did subsequently slice up most pieces after one or two grinds. But some of the pet wood and some of the green moss agate did start to shape nicely. Also these were ping-pong sized pieces, and you can't have too many of that size in a rotary.
If you use you 220 bowl, all you have to lose is a bit of time. You can wash it out and continue using if for 220 with no problem. Move on the nicer ones, and if you need to send a few chalenged ones over to the rotary.
I will try to post some before/after pics nest time I start a whole bowl of raw rock.

Toad- I think you might be surprised at what 120 will do in a vibe- (but I am all in favor of you getting another tumbler!!!)
