I have an arrangement with a local Bead Store as an outlet for my stones: 1. I get $.75 per 2"x 2 1/2" or large top front drilled pendent stones.. 2. I get $.50 for non-drilled(perfect) large stones-depending on the type... The Bead Store then retails my drilled stones for $2.50..and the free stones for $1.25 and more. He takes all the stones I can produce and is easy to work with..What do you think about my prices and sometimes I feel that I an not factoring in the price of the drill bits properly..?? I cannot get a handle on the actual cost it takes to produce the product..What do you think?

Greetings All,
Mayhap you should keep a notebook of the number of rocks you drill. how long it takes to drill them, and how often you have to replace the drillbit. After a couple of weeks you should be able to have a good idea of what it is costing you both in time and materials to produce each bead. I know if I try to keep track of things in my head they get lost pretty quick .
