I was high bidder on two auctions on ebay for some slabs. One was for 7 slabs of Rose Quartz and the other was for 3 slabs of Graveyard Plume Agate. Any suggestions as to the best way to I might be able to break them down into smaller pieces without ruining them? I have my dremel, should I try to score it somehow to give it a line to crack on? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm assuming that since this is agate and quartz I can put it in with almost anything (thinking jasper, more agate) ... Oooo I have some Botswana agate, now that should make for a darn pretty load.

cher if you have one of those round diamond wheels for your dremal you can cut a slab half way through and lightly tap it on the cut and it should break fairly strait,, with one of those wheels you can prb cut it all the way through and not have to bang on it at all

I use my diamond saw, and I make a pattern on the stone to grind a boundary. My thought would be, why could you not use a tile scorer. It is an inexpensive item, has a scoring wheel and a notch to snap on the scored line. It sounds like you got some great slabs. I really like faceting rose quartz. Pink Ice is too artificial pink. Rose quartz has the natural pink look. Probably because it comes that way. That would make it a natural pink. Of course that would make sense. Rose quartz is pink naturally. I sometimes turn quartz yellow by flaming silver onto the quartz. I call it sunset quartz. A quarter flamed onto quartz produces a crayola yellow. That is the nickel and copper content of the quarter. Good luck with your slabs, they sound great.

Just added a 3 slabs of Picture Jasper too. That's it though, not looking no more, at least till next time. Got plenty to play with now.
