How much SISA pre-polish do I add to a 3 lb barrel that is charged about 2/3 full? How many days should it tumble? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

i use 5-6 tablespoons in my 3 pounders for at least 3 days....more time doesn't hurt........then use a nice polish for softer stones.

I just got some Triploi for pre polish and I'm having a hard time with the grit to water preportions. I thought it would be similar to polish but it's not. For a 3 lbs. bowl (I use a vibe) the first try was too loose (3 tbls equal) then too dry (3 tbls. to 1 tbls.). The third day I'm not sure what I used, some where in between, and it still looked funny but it worked. Then CO for 2 days and WOW! This is a nice batch. Will post soon ;D

Cookie, I use the same measurement for Tripoli in the vibe as all the other grits. 2 teaspoons grit, 2 tlbs. water. I know you and puppies think this to to much water, but after much experimenting this is what works best for me. Does what it needs to do without dehydrating and ending up with everything stuck on the bottom.
I think the weather here has alot to do with the need for more water, so now that it's getting cooler, I might have to do some adjusting.
