For those who have clear skies tonite, there is a total eclipse of the full moon, beginning about now here on the west coast. So does that mean all the wierdo's will be hiding too?

My husband and I have been watching it tonight. It's just coming back out. It's been mesmerising! When it started I lit a candle and went to the top of my driveway. My neighbor came out and invited me to stand on their deck. After a while my husband called over to us and said he'd set the telescope up. It's been amazing, we have the total eclipse here. He took some photos but I haven't looked at them yet. WOW!

You guys are so lucky. Like I said, I didn't get to see this one but here's a pic from the elipse on May 15, '03. These are so neat to look at. Cher PS. You couldn't see the red just looking at it but it sure showed up thru the lens.

Well, it's 11PM here in central Texas and one of three things happened - 1) I missed it all together - been sittin' at the grinder for two hours - my hands look like prunes! 2) It's right in the middle of the eclipse and the moon is completely covered 3) or, it's cloudy
Usually when the moon is full all I have to do is walk out my front door and look up and there it is. Tonight the sky is pitch black and the moon ain't nowhere to be seen.

You must have just missed it Llana. The clouds worked out perfect for me. It was completly overcast until the eclipse started then the the skys cleared up. As soon as it was over the clouds came back and completely covered the moon. It's almost like God opened the curtains, put on the show and then closed the curtains saying "Goodnight folks, hope you enjoyed the show"

Greetings All,
Got to watch the first half of it with my son, who I let stay up a bit past his bedtime so he could see it. Clouds on and off but we got to see the last bit of the moon engulfed in shadow. Pretty neat.

thats what my brother and i were doing last night, looking at the eclipse. we took our dog heidi on a walk about 7:00 (pacific time) and it was about half covered, then by about half an hour later it was fully covered.

How come all the moons are a different size? I am glad it came back however. If a dragon really did eat the moon, the tides would cease and I would be underwater. That is something you do not see every day. Thanks for the shots I had to sleep early, we are going mucho poco at the shop getting it ready for tomorrow.
