OK, here's the first batch I've ever posted to show... Pink Botswana agate black Brazilian agate - undyed carnelian a quartzite from New Mexico that has green copper veins running through it. Because you get malachite pockets, some pitting is normal and unavoidable It's fun to collect, though.

Wow, that's pretty sweet, especially for a first batch! Nice colors in those stones too, well done. I'm sure you're noticing some stones shape faster than others too now. Some agates and pet woods seem to take FOREVER to get out of coarse grind. The most stubborn stones can end up being the most rewarding though. We will expect to see regular photos and reports of your progress from now on. ;D

wel, it's not my first batch, merely the first one I've gotten done since joining the board Some of my tumblers have been going off and on for more than 10 years. They're just getting fixed and back in circulation.

Very nice batch, the carnellians and black agates are perfectly shaped and polished.

I purchased a huge old collection of high end rough, more than a half ton of total material, several years ago. I have another 30-40 pounds of this, plus old Globe chrysocolla, 100 pounds of 20 year old sodalite (translucent, no calcite), 100 pounds of partly tumbled malachite, a kilo of sugilite, and too much other stuff to list. I love it when a collection like this falls in my lap.

by the way, I'm hoping to hit the quartzite / copper site this fall or late summer. If I get a bunch, it will be available for swapping.

Unfortunately, I only have another 40 pounds of this pink Botswana mix, then it's all gone. This was the nicest batch of the pink bot rough I was sitting on.
