OK, I will make up for being the spelling police (meant ONLY in jest, not to offend) with this comment:
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read it in English, thank a veteran.

My wife's mother still is ademant (sp?) I am tired after the shop, that the Nazi's were right. For Memorial day this year, she insulted the vets in front of me. Her church in Los Angeles is one of the churches that sponsors the "peace" riots. She maintains the Holocaust was made up. Mind you, I have repaired jewelery for folks who still have the tattoo on their arm. I was blinded with the concept we started WWII, Korea was interfered with by us, and Viet Nam was strictly a political issue. What we experienced there is beyond words. She was not alone. There was an herd of supporters around her. I had gotten all spiffed up for the occasion. I am a retired Veteran of Viet Nam lineage, and I truly thought for once the nonsense could stop and people I watched die could be remembered for the sacrifice and courage they showed. My wife and I left the table when her mother informed us, the World Trade Center was a political plot to invade Iraq and that it was concieved by our current president. She then informed us 9/11 was a media event. Her pastor and the other people there showed us "proof", handwritten notes on notebook paper from vague sources, that 9/11 didn't happen at all. We had to leave. It means a lot to me when people recognise Veterans day. Just to acknowlege we served. It doesn't undo what we lived through, and it seems our experiences were similar to Veterans of Normandy, It just makes that day different from the others. I wish none of it ever had to happen, but I am glad I was there to try to make a difference. To all us Vets. I salute you.

Shorty. I am sorry to have had to make, not very hard, my wife leave her family. I couldn't believe what I heard and saw. Induce fact over emotion? Not that crowd. In principle I couldn't argue with the heart of what they were trying to say. Reality being what it is, we aren't there yet. In a perfect world, we could turn our attention to the quality of life, expanding our conciousness, reaching out to othere and passing on what we needed to succeed. Meantime, I recognise all Veterans who come to my path.

The veterans served so that the rest of us can argue over rights and wrongs.
God bless the veterans and the USA.

I'm late but I'd still like to say ...
*Thank You* to all who served to protect our country and give us the freedoms we have today.
God Bless You All and God Bless the U.S.A. !!!!
Cher
PS. Doc, I'm really sorry you had to endure listening to your mother-in-law. Some people never cease to amaze me. To all of you 'Nam vets ... please know, your sacrifices were appreciated by many.
PSS. Shorty, your spelling didn't make any difference to me. I can read typonese and I knew what you meant. GBU
