Roger, I've never used felt, but I can tell you for sure that leather with diamond paste will put a shine on just about every type of rock that will take a shine.

Leather, you bet, has been used for thousands of years. I use a slap polisher round (Richardsons Ranch) and Rapid Polish...-Dale Rhode

HAHAhahah! I've never heard of a slap polisher before! I got this picture in my mind of Dale sitting there with a rock on a table & every time he slaps it, he curses at it!

Thanks,I think I will go buy a leather pad to today.I spent all day yesterday rock hunting hopfully I can finish a cab or two tonite if work doesn't get in the way. Roger
