Hi all. Well, I finally got my homemade vib lap working tonite. Actually, it's a modified "Gryo-tory Shaker" that I picked up at my friendly industrial surplus store back in Dec. I'll get some pics of it maybe tomorrow. Seems to be working pretty good. My question is, How much grit do I need to use-I put a 12" disc on it-and more importantly, do I keep the grit dry or use water? I started it just using grit and everything was sliding around just fine, then I sprayed some water on it and the smaller slabs started sticking in one place. But now after 2 hrs, seems the grit has pretty much spread itself evenly on the disc and everything is again sliding nicely. Also, how long should I expect the grit to last before having to replace it and how long should it take to get a nice flat surface on the slabs?

Hi Ed,
We are heading to Denver, Colorado in a few minutes ... as soon as I get back, I will send a reply to this question.
Have a great day,
John
